S.M. Aly Osman is a well-rounded professional with over 25 years of rich experience in senior management and leadership roles covering compliance and corporate governance, policy making, risk-based audit frameworks, development of culture, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

Aly is the Group Chief Internal Auditor for Engro Holdings and Engro Corporation to oversee the Corporate Audit Department providing Assurance and Advisory, Identification and Mitigation of process and controls risks across the group, effective systems of financial and operating controls exist which ensure reliability of financial reporting and safeguards of assets, adequate policies and SOPs exist which ensure good corporate governance, compliance with laws and ethical business conduct.

Previously, Aly has been Head of Ethics and Conduct at HBL. He spearheaded the development and implementation of the Conduct & Culture Framework, significantly enhancing organizational accountability and integrity. His efforts led to the establishment of robust policies such as the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) Policy, and the Whistle-Blowing Policy, ensuring adherence to the highest ethical standards. Furthermore, he received the CEO Award for Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) Top Corporate Excellence Award in the Financial Sector in 2014 for best Corporate Governance.

Aly has also held key positions including Head of Internal Audit, Head of Risk Management, Head of Compliance, Head of Policies development, Director Ethics and Compliance at organizations including UBL Fund Managers Limited, Telenor Pakistan Limited, JS Investment, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Aly is an Accountant by profession and has attended serval certification programs, including Strategy Execution Program by INSEAD and Certified Director, ICAP.
